Biography:
Dr. Shepherd received his Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He is assistant professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Louisiana College and the Caskey School of Divinity. He is also holder of the John & Allie Fogleman professorship in religion. Dr. Shepherd has published three books: The Verbal System of Biblical Aramaic: A Distributional Approach, Daniel in the Context of the Hebrew Bible, and The Twelve Prophets in the New Testament (Peter Lang). He has also published articles in several of the leading journals in his field: Journal of Semitic Studies, Zeitschrift für die alttestamenliche Wissenschaft, Journal of Northwest Semitic Languages, Hebrew Studies, and Maarav (forthcoming).

Dr. Michael Shepherd and his wife Esther have three children: Abby, 8; Anna, 6; Audrey, 3. He has been teaching at Louisiana College since 2006.
